For most of us, peeling is a way of life. Something we happily use every week to reach full sun – and a healthy boost! Despite the best tools, which even go at their own pace, things don’t always go according to plan. And the striped and mottled color of a tanning bed like Oompa Loompa that has gone wrong can be absolutely scary!
Fortunately, choosing the right product and preparing your skin can help prevent your own risks. However, because a bad tan cannot always be 100% prevented, it is important to know what you can do to get rid of your tan as soon as possible!
We are happy for you, that’s what we want. In this article, we outline eight reliable methods that can help you get rid of self-burning quickly. Keep reading and find out how you can say “long time” with orange peel, streaks, and other confidence hazards!
If you have made a bronze bamboo, we recommend reaching for the baby oil. Baby oil really promotes exfoliation and exfoliation on your skin – this is your next step. Crude oils, such as coconut, olive or sunflower, can be used in a pinch, but for best results, be sure to take baby oil.
When it’s time to take off your self-tanning, simply rub the skin with baby oil and let it rest for 30-40 minutes. Then wash it in the shower with a loofah or washcloth. As soon as you get out of the shower, you will probably notice that the color of your submachine gun has dropped to a shade or two (woohoo!). And if you use gentle sunscreen? It may even disappear completely!
Baking soda and lemon juice
This is a great DIY solution because you probably already have these items in your fridge or pantry, which means you can clean your tanning areas quickly and easily. One thing to note is that this quick fix won’t completely erase your tan – it’ll just disappear a little. If you see something too orange, this may be for you. However, if you have streaks or spots, you should do so twice or opt for a heavier stroke method.
To prepare the solution, mix the lemon juice, a little baking soda, and a little baby oil and leave it on the skin for 5-10 minutes. Then wash the solution with a cloth or loofah and you will see the result. Whitening toothpaste
Toothpaste is one of the most versatile toothpaste in your home. And – yes, you guessed it – it can be used to remove a submachine gun! One of the active ingredients in whitening toothpaste is sodium bicarbonate, which is used to whiten teeth. However, in an emergency, it can also be used to remove invalid artificial tan spots.
If you want to use toothpaste to remove the tanner, we recommend applying it directly to the skin, but too small areas, such as the fingers or palms. Let stand for about 10 minutes and then wash with a washcloth. Note: It is not recommended to use this treatment more than once as it may irritate the skin.
DIY solutions are not for everyone, and if you fall into this trap, you will be happy to know that there are a few products on the market to try. Each product has its advantages and disadvantages, so do your research before deciding where to go. Here are some of the best self-tanning removers to look out for.
Preparation and maintenance of St. John’s Mousse Tropez Tan Remover
Tanologist Tan Eraser Plus Prime
Model Co. Exfoliating self-tanning soap
Swimming pool, whirlpool, or sauna
If you use a harder fake tanning device, you want to swim, wake up, or sweat. Opening pores is a great way for your skin to loosen your tanning product, so if you’re not lucky with other removal solutions, it won’t hurt to give up these methods. They are also relatively relaxed ways to spend time, so in terms of self-service, it can be a real benefit. 6. Sugar peeling
The key to removing a sunscreen is to scrub it, and how better to scrub (and get soft and supple skin!) Then using a sugar peel? In addition to the coarse sugar used in these products, it often contains oil, which is another good ingredient for breaking down false tans.
There are many DIY recipes for sugar peels, but the basic formula is one part oil to two parts sugar. You can use white or coffee; just make sure the sugar is heavy and not refined. Or you can buy a sugar scrub that has been shown to work on all skin types, such as Coco & Eve Body Buffing Sugar.
Depilatory cream seems like a great choice for removing a false tan but listen to us. These products work by breaking down keratin bonds in the body’s hair, which also serves to exfoliate the skin and remove the top layer. Importance? This may be your failed attempt to remove the tan!
To apply the depilatory cream, apply a layer on your hands and apply it to the skin for half the recommended time. Then gently wash it with a microfiber cloth or similar soft cloth to reduce the risk of irritation.
Peelings are not the only type of peeling that can help eliminate false appearance – peeling gloves are also great. All you have to do is jump into the hot shower and scrub with your favorite glove (of course we’re partly for Coco & Eve Deluxe Exfoliating Mitt). Then you will notice that your stripes have disappeared significantly, which makes it easier to adjust your self-tanning.
